VAG will get you to your destination in Nuremberg quickly and conveniently, whether you arrive at the airport or the main railway station. You can take the underground from Albrecht Dürer Airport in the north to Nuremberg city centre in just 13 minutes.
Nuremberg Airport enjoys excellent connections to our transport network. The underground line U2 will take you to all the key places of interest in Nuremberg quickly and easily. There are also the number 30 and 33 bus lines, as well as the N12 NightLiner, to complete your journey.

Getting to the Exhibition Centre (“Messe”)
Connections usually run every 10 minutes (from 04:30 am - 00:30 am).
- Underground line U2 (towards Röthenbach) to “Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof”.
- Change to underground line U1 (towards Langwasser Süd)
- Get off at “Messe”
- The underground line U1 takes you directly to the main entrance of the Exhibition Centre (exit “Mitte”). There is a lift and a bridge to the exhibition grounds to ensure a barrier-free crossing.
Getting to Nuremberg city centre
Connections usually run every 10 minutes (from 04:30 am - 00:30 am).
- Underground line U2 (towards Röthenbach) to “Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof”.
- Change to underground line U1 (towards Fürth Hardhöhe)
- Get off at “Lorenzkirche”
or
- Underground line U2 (towards Röthenbach) to “Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof”.
- Get off at “Wöhrder Wiese”
- Around 850 metres walking distance to the market square

Ticket sales
For journeys within the Nuremberg-Fürth-Stein urban area, you will need a ticket in price level A.
Ticket machine
There are two ticket machines immediately as you leave the airport building, straight ahead after exiting the baggage claim area. There is a third machine at the top of the stairs to the underground station on the left.
Airport information
Turn left after leaving the baggage claim area. The information desk is around 50 metres away on the right-hand side. You can find a variety of information here and buy bus and train tickets (multi-trip tickets, day tickets, MobiCard season tickets, the Bavaria-wide BayernTicket and weekend tickets (“Schönes-Wochenende-Ticket”)).

Nürnberg Card

The main railway station is Nuremberg’s public transport hub. All the underground lines and many tram and bus lines converge here. The NightLiners also depart from here.

Nuremberg’s main railway station is at the heart of the city. You can reach all the main places of interest from there in next to no time.
Getting to the Exhibition Centre (“Messe”)

- Underground line U1 (towards Langwasser Süd or Messe).
- Get off at “Messe”
- The underground line U1 takes you directly to the main entrance of the Exhibition Centre (exit “Mitte”). There is a lift and a bridge to the exhibition grounds to ensure a barrier-free crossing.
Getting to the airport
Direct connections usually run every ten minutes (from 04:30 am - 00:30 am).
- Underground line U2 (towards Flughafen).
- Get off at “Flughafen”
Getting into Nuremberg city centre
- On foot in around five minutes
- Take the underground line U1 (towards Fürth Hauptbahnhof) for one or two stops – getting off either at “Lorenzkirche” or “Weißer Turm”
